October Grounding List

Autumn deepens into the deep crimsons and burnt oranges and we take that first crisp inhale of fall air, in October. This time of the fall, is a time for nostalgia and gathering. We move through the start of our holiday traditions and are inclined to invite our friends to pumpkin and spooky themed activities together. I hope this list provides a cozy guide for some new October traditions or for anytime you want to take a moment to let your nervous system fall back into place. 🍂

Spooky Candle

non toxic wood-wick candle
Natural Sloth is another brand of completely clean candles that I love. This halloween themed one is a favorite - not too heavy on the holiday (like a candy corn candle) but still festive and the container is so fun and festive!

Mulling Spices

There is nothing like mulling spices on the stove in the fall and winter. Warm spiced cider infused with cinnamon, cloves and dried citrus is a deep sensory experiences steeped in tradition going back to

Favorite Dutch Oven

Staub Dutch Oven
This Dutch oven has been the single best investment in my kitchen to date. From soups to sourdough I truly use my Dutch oven at least once a week - especially in the fall. What I love about the Staub is that it is not enameled on the inside like the Le Cruset is. This makes it a lot more durable and forgiving! Also a lot easier to clean!

Autumn Watercolor Book

I’m so pleased the Emily Lex studio has had so much success in the past year! Her watercolor books are truly a delight - simple enough to where you don’t get discouraged from painting and yet complex enough to keep you engrossed in the painting.

Autumn Hill Cottage Puzzle

Fall Puzzle
Wentworth are by far my favorite puzzles of all time! Yes they are a little bit pricier but they are SO worth it. I originally heard about them a few years ago from a podcast where Hugh Jackman was talking about how much he loves them. They smell like fresh cut wood and last forever! Plus all the special pieces make it so much fun to do. They are truly a sensory treat!
